Advances in Diagnosis, Devices and Drugs

Innovations in Neonatal Care Conference evolved from a regional meeting in 2011 to a national event that shares groundbreaking and sometimes controversial topics, ideas, and current evidence at the forefront of newborn infants care.

This conference attracts attendees from across the United States and overseas. In past years, Innovations welcomed professionals from Brazil, Canada and Puerto Rico. With roughly 200 participants and growing, audience attendance draws equal numbers of physicians and advanced practitioners, as well as nurses, other hospital staff, and those still in training.

The practice of neonatology is constantly evolving with new evidence and treatment options for our fragile patients. We invite you to this educational program addressing some of the current advances in neonatal medicine regarding diagnosis, drugs and devices. This year’s conference is uniquely designed to enhance our clinical awareness of cutting-edge information related to different aspects of neonatal care, including but not limited to:

  1. Developing the most appropriate Family Focus NICU
  2. The development of the artificial placenta
  3. Evaluation of Human Milk Fortifiers
  4. Neonatal Pharmacology Update
  5. Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome
  6. Gene Therapy and its potential
  7. Roundtable discussion of Avastin vs Lucentis

An expert panel will explore new techniques and best evidence for application of some of these promising therapeutic options for the future. As an attendee, you will also be able to appreciate the complex ethical, quality and safety issues inherent in taking care of our most vulnerable newborn infants.

New For 2018!

Post-Conference Workshop

At the conclusion of this activity, a participant will:
  1. Discuss newer methodologies, techniques and devices that may be useful in improving the care of sick newborns in the NICU setting
  2. Utilize information presented here to assist your team in planning modifications to care pathways, policies and workflow processes in your home NICU
  3. Correlate current research evidence for selected NICU devices, diagnostic techniques and pharmacologic agents with patient outcomes
